Dr. Kayla Mora

Dr. Kayla Mora was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where her passion for science and service first took root. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, during which she participated in research programs at prestigious institutions such as Harvard University and Loma Linda University.

Her journey into dentistry began during a life-changing mission trip to Mexico in an underserved community, where she witnessed firsthand the vital role oral health plays in overall well-being. Inspired by that experience, she went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Loma Linda University.

After dental school, Dr. Mora practiced as a general dentist in Florida for three years. She later relocated to Texas after her husband, a physician, was accepted into an endocrinology fellowship at UTMB in Houston. Since then, she has taken pride in serving patients at Shine Dental. She is passionate about the art and science of dentistry, and especially enjoys performing extractions, restorative procedures, and cosmetic treatments that help patients feel confident in their smiles.
